Galatians 2:17-21 NIV
“But if, in seeking to be justified in Christ, we Jews find ourselves also among the sinners, doesn’t that mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not! If I rebuild what I destroyed, then I really would be a lawbreaker. For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”
I'm currently on my 4th day of my new job. I started out with unease and great anticipation to begin afresh and new. It is a new environment with a new set of rules to follow in order to excel in the job. I am half prepared to take it on full-steam. Somehow, old habits weighs me down.
I get flustered when certain customers come in with their own expectations of staff, even to the point of joking at certain antics observed of them when they react randomly to what we say. I had to put them under control as I was politely reminded that all voice and video were recorded for training and quality purposes, something I was rather familiar with in my previous occupation.
These words came on like a nagging reminder about how much God sacrificed in order that we may breathe a little easier. But if I were to slack off and rest on His laurels, I will get carried away with the old nature, the very thing that Jesus paid with His life to destroy. Apostle Paul called this being a lawbreaker!
The impression I am giving to the people around me is a litmus test of my gratefulness to Jesus. If not, He really would have "died for nothing". I represent Jesus in my workplace!
Aid me Lord Jesus in handling situations like these and always being humbled and aware that You are the true Master of my life and that I am accountable to You in everything I do. Discipline me, mould me, make me into the person You envisioned me to be. Live in me and let Your life pour out till it overflows in my thoughts, actions and words. Let me #SpeakLife in everything and represent You properly. Amen.
