"Even when you are old I will be the same. And even when your hair turns white, I will help you. I will take care of what I have made. I will carry you, and will save you."
~ Isaiah 46:4 (NLV)
I've always wondered and dreaded about what I would be like in 30-40 years down the road. Just when I am starting out in life, I worry about the future. We are informed not to worry, like in Matthew 6:34 "Do not worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow will have its own worries. The troubles we have in a day are enough for one day." (NLV)
There's no point in speculating what may or may not come. We just have to live each day for Him, abiding in Him, rejoicing in Him, allowing God to manifest His presence and reveal things to us daily. We have to allow Him to invade our lives, surrender it to Him because He knows best, like any doting father would do for his child.
It certainly doesn't sound easy to just let go and let Him take control, to let God be the Master of our lives. We are afraid that He will mess things up or it won't work out the way we want it to be. Historically, man has never lived up to his own expectations.
That is why we follow God's expectations because "the Lord is waiting to show his mercy to you. He wants to rise and comfort you. The Lord is the God who does the right thing, so He will bless everyone who waits for His help." (Isaiah 30:18 ERV)
Lord, thank You for Your promise to us that You "will never leave me nor forsake me" (Deuteronomy 31:6) and that you will be there to carry me and save me, especially when I am older. Help me to keep leaning on You and abiding in You, to maintain what I have in You and to be patient with You as You are first patient with me. Amen.
