We are born to praise Him! This added to the fact that I got this picture from having lunch at McDonald's.
In context, the verses state, "Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him." (Colossians 1:15-16 NLT)
The key is in the last portion "Everything was created through him and for him." God truly is magnificent and what better purpose to live for than to give Him the praise amidst everything going on around us! He is in control!
Psalm 47:8 mentions, "God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne." So give it up for God in exuberant, uninhibited praise for all praise is due!
"I will praise the Lord at all times; his praise is always on my lips. My whole being praises the Lord. The poor will hear and be glad. Glorify the Lord with me, and let us praise his name together."
(Psalm 34:1-3 NCV)
Are you facing some difficult situations and find it hard to lift up your head? Praise Him for He delights in praise!
An amusing but delightful illustration shows just how much we should praise God even in our lowest moments of life:
"Why are you down in the dumps, dear soul? Why are you crying the blues? Fix my eyes on God— soon I’ll be praising again. He puts a smile on my face. He’s my God. When my soul is in the dumps, I rehearse everything I know of you, From Jordan depths to Hermon heights, including Mount Mizar. Chaos calls to chaos, to the tune of whitewater rapids. Your breaking surf, your thundering breakers crash and crush me. Then God promises to love me all day, sing songs all through the night! My life is God’s prayer."
(Psalm 42:5-8 MSG)
So, go on now, give Him a shout or two... or three... or just carried away!
